White Cyc Studio LA Visual Effects
Have you watched the series Star Trek on television? Have you seen a Star Wars movie? Have you seen a Sci-Fi movie or TV show involving outer space? Maybe you have asked yourself exactly how they created the scenes soaring in outer space? A lot of the visual effects for these types of programs were filmed in a White Cyc facility using infinity cycs. The infinity cyc is curved at the bottom where the walls and ground join collectively resulting in a graphic effect of unrestricted space. A white cyc studio LA is used on stage to form an illusion of atmosphere.
Star Trek is a superb example demonstrating the starship Enterprise soaring through unlimited outer space surrounded by stars and asteroids from a long distance and the cameras focusing in on the spaceship. At the end it would show the starship Enterprise in outer space and the cameras would zoom off from the spaceship when the show was concluded. These graphic effects were executed using a White Cyc studio LA. The model of the starship Enterprise was hanging from the threshold in the heart of a white cyc stage.
What makes a good White Cyc studio LA? The white cyc needs to be well built and free of: visual imperfections, seams, dust, visual edges, and distinct angles which cause shadows. The white cyc needs to have: 1) Well-organized space for zoom shots and also to avoid crowding, tough camera angles, and invite for appropriate lighting preparations. 2) A high threshold to counteract challenging camera angles, and lighting complications. 3) Several cyclorama walls to film against to avoid filming constraints. 4) Efficient time for installation, shooting and take down if hiring a White Cyc studio LA.
Several film studios do not have their own White Cyc studio LA, so when they want to use a White Cyc studio they go off lot and book one of many facilities in LA. There are a number of studios near LA. Let's check out what a few studios offer. White Cyc facilities in LA need to feature: 1) Whisper quiet air conditioning. 2) 3000 square feet of space to operate with. 3) Ground level access. 4) 16 and a half ft to lighting grid. 5) A couple of white cyc surfaces 75 in size. 6) Complete lighting and grip. 7) Free V/O booth and make-up room. 
Any kind of required production equipment.
Other great studios that you can lease out features: 1) 80 linear feet of shootable white cyc studio LA. 2) 20 ton of grip, lighting, stedicam, jibs, dollies. 3) 3 white cyclorama walls. 4) Action control setup. 5) 4 editing bays. 6) 3D animation/compositing. 7) Pre to post production crews.
