Frequently Asked Questions...
whats wrong with me spending my hard earned money on FX Lightsabers?
ive started collecting Star Wars FX Lightsabers and i really like them. yet eveytime i buy 1 i get negative feedback from friends and family! they ask why would i spend $120.00 on each of them?
i tell them that i really like them and ive always been a Star Wars nerd..so whats wrong with collecting them? my bills are paid and i make decent cash at work. if i buy a new pair of sneakers every other week it seems fine to them, but if i buy a Lightsaber its a waste!?
Answer:
As stated in the answer above, they are a good investment if nothing else!
But also, we as humans are attracted to the things we value aesthetically and cherish fundamentally. Now as you've said, you are a Star Wars nerd (respect for that by the way!) so what difference is it to somebody who has a lot of shoes? They only have two feet so can't possibly need that many! When it boils down to it, it's because they like them. Having them makes them feel happy, and having your FX Lightsabers makes you feel happy - and nobody is right to try and shame you for that.
I would say that the next time somebody says something about it, calmly explain that it is a small thing in life that makes you happy, and as a loved friend or family member you hope they would understand and value your happiness above their own opinion.
I hope this helps you in your dilemma. I myself am a Star Wars nerd too so I completely understand where you are coming from! We all suffer for our love of a galaxy far far away (I had to).
