i was just wondering is general grievous force sensitive because he was able to ignite a lightsaber im not sure but i thought only people (or other species) had to be force sensitive? also is han solo force sensitive because in a picture he had a lightsaber? has anyone found out yoda's species? and does anybody else besides me like the prequal movies (the phantom menace, attack of the clones, revenge of the sith) and are other people mad that hasbro took the title of making force fx lightsabers one more thing is anybody selling there force fx for a cheap price please answer at least some of the questions
Thanks
Answer:
"honky275" is almost right when he says that anyone can ignite a lightsabre ... for the most part that is right ... all you do is push the "on" button & it ignites ... HOWEVER ... there have been stories of both Jedi & Sith who have built their lightsabres in a way that you do have to be a "Force sensitive" to turn them on because you have to use the Force to do it. The first to come to mind is the Dark Jedi in the book "The Crystal Star" ... Lord Herithir is his name. His lightsabre can only be ignited by use of the Force. That being said 99.9% of all lightsabres ever made by Jedi or Sith can be ignited by anyone ... you don't have to be able to use the Force just push a button. As "honky275" points out ... Han used Luke's lightsabre to cut open the Tantun on Hoth to save their lives.
General Grievous is an interesting case. He is not human, he is Kaleesh. Roughly humanoid in appearance though. He was approached by the Seps to be the leader of their armies but he wasn't interested ... it was then arranged for him to be in some horrific accident by the Seps because they wanted him as their leader and were going to get him anyway they could. The injuries he sustained would have killed him but he gave in and allowed them to basically make him into a droid. He has his eyes, brain, and other vital organs but his body is all machine. It is said that he never had any sensitivity to the Force but during the operation to save his life he did get a blood transfusion from Count Dooku and while that didn't make him Force sensitive it saved his life and made him eager to train in the ways of the Lightsabre in combat. With all the advantages his droid body gave him there were few Jedi that could even dare challenge him in open combat and even fewer that lived through that challenge. He was beaten/destroyed by Obi-Wan.
Han Solo is NOT Force sensitive in any way shape or form.
Yoda's species is something that we will never learn as Lucas has said he will never reveal it. All that is know about that species is that there were only ever two known members of it ... Yoda and Yaddle. You would think that as the only members of a species they would have been best of friends and maybe try to continue their species by mating. It was not to be with these two. Yaddle was about 300 years younger than Yoda and they were best of friends until they went on a mission together. The have been no details of this "mission" ever told ... the only thing that is known is that after that mission Yoda never spoke to Yaddle again even though they were both members of the Jedi Council during the events of ep I ... her only screen appearance is during some of the Council sessions in ep I. She is said to have died in between ep I and ep II but there is no story on that as of yet either.
As for the prequel movies ... I know a lot of fans just say they "sucked" and leave it at that ... to me those fans are just pretenders who don't have much cause to call themselves real fans. I'm one of the biggest SW fans you will ever "meet" and I too was disappointed with the prequels until I thought about why I didn't like them as much as I did the OT & found 3 main things. First, when Lucas decided to make the prequels he had given himself an impossible task ... make 3 more movies as good or better than the OT ... it couldn't be done. Second, Lucas seemed to fall in love with all the new pretty ways he could blow stuff up and forgot that the main thing that makes SW the iconic saga that it is and always will be ... the story. Third, in the 16 years between the two trilogies most fans had already made up the story of how the prequels would go in out heads and when it didn't match the movies it ticked us off. In the end the story works as a whole so I'm not gonna bit@h too much about them. I like the movies but no where near as much as I liked the OT.
As for the toy thing ... most fans don't really care who is making the toys ... the only thing they care about is if it is cool or not ... lol ...
May The Force Be With You ...
EDIT: Why wait for what I think about it "VeNgEr" ... you seem to think you know already. Unfortunately you're wrong on both counts. It WAS Dooku who gave Grievous the blood transfusion, there is not one single doubt in that respect. "Vandar Tokare" ... he was a character in KOTR video game IIRC & just like about 98% of all characters in the video games he is NOT canon & Lucas has said that he was NOT the same species as Yoda ... similar no doubt but not of the same species.
