Battlestar Galactica: Why are there flashbacks? When will I understand?
Why are there flashbacks in Battlestar Galactica season 1 (2004)? I just started watching from the beginning, and there are clips of things that I haven't seen happen. Did I miss a pilot? What about the war with the Cylons? When am I going to understand why Number Six is in the doctor's head and who the Cylons are? Can someone explain the organization of this show to me?
Answer:
As far as i know there are no flashbacks in season 1 but its been a while since i have watched season 1.
The pilot show was 2 hours where the cylons attacked, destroyed the cities and other battlestars. It starts out with a remote outpost getting destroyed by cylons and that you learn they taken human form. Galactica ends up meeting with the fleet and helping them and then at the end talks about Earth.
The parts it shows on the planet is happening as Galactica and the fleet are fleeing from the cylons. If you are talking about Helio that is. He was left on the planet to make room for Baltar to get into the raptor and go to Galactica. The parts on the planet is pretty much his story of whats going on while he was there.
The number 6 in Baltar head is a long story in a sense. You never find out why she is in his head until closer to the end of the series in the last season. You find out what head Six is at the end series.
Who are the cylons: they were created by humans and later rebelled. They lost the war that they talked about the season 1 and then went into hiding, made human version of a few of them and then they came back and attacked the humans. There is a much larger story to the cylons but i dont want to spoil it, more comes out about them in the last season also.
