Tennessee Has More Than Great Backpacking

From one of many Tennessee vacation rentals in the eastern segment of the Volunteer State, you will be able to see many of the attractions of the state, including state and national parks, historic museums and even musical events. Eastern Tennessee and the I-75 corridor that runs between Chattanooga and Knoxville has a great deal to offer in terms of a unforgettable family escape and backpacking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is just one of them.

Eastern Tennessee is a region booming in urban areas, ecological beauty and points of interest. Stroll through the Smoky Mountains or hike a part of the Appalachian Trail. Urban areas in eastern Tennessee include Knoxville, Chattanooga, Bristol, Kingsport and Johnson City. East Tennessee is home to the Chattanooga Choo Choo,  Dollywood, Rock City, Ruby Falls, the Lost Sea, the International Storytelling Center, Ripley's Aquarium, the Knoxville Zoo, Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, the American Museum of Science & Energy, the birthplace of country music and NASCAR's home.

The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, located in Knoxville Tennessee, has outstanding guest artists and megastar entertainers with the KSO musicians for masterworks, chamber classics and pop concerts September through May of 2010.  For additional information about this year’s venue, call (865) 291-3310.  They will send you a schedule of entertainers as well as propose vacation rentals near by.

Eastern Tennessee vacation rental choices range from vacation homes, Tennessee inns, RV camping, to hotels and motels.  Pigeon Forge is the core of the Great Smoky Mountains, and Twin Cabins gives a number of very affordable cabin rentals in this community, with rates starting as low as $85 a night. For those with their private RV, there are a number of tidy, up-to-date campgrounds and RV parks existing at low off-season rates. Of course, there are also several hotels and motels ranging from full-service luxury resorts to more affordable economy lodgings; currently, there are 10,000 rooms available in the community.

One of the major surprises in Pigeon Forge is scheduled to open in mid-2010. Since James Cameron's blockbuster 1999 film, guests have been fascinated by the tale of the doomed ship RMS Titanic. Guests this spring will be amid the first to encounter the new Titanic Museum.  In attendance are a lot of Pigeon Forge vacation rentals to reserve rooms at as well.

If you missed Graceland in Memphis, you can benefit from an exhibit of The King's individual items at the Elvis Presley Museum, located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Started by Mike Moon, Mike has collected what is considered to be the biggest personal collection of Elvis memorabilia outside of Graceland.  Elvis himself personally donated items to Mike, as did Elvis’s staff throughout the years.  The museum is currently run and operated by Mike’s daughter, her husband and their children.  For additional information about this museum, please call 865-428-2001.

Eastern Tennessee has abundant activities for the complete family ranging from out-of-doors hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, to entertaining musical artists, to historical sites and  fine dining and dancing.  For information about this wonderful state, please see the Tennessee Vacation web site.

Frequently Asked Questions...

When collecting movie props and memorabilia, is it better to have the item signed or unsigned?

Hi. I am beginning to start a collection of film props and memorabilia. I am hoping to win an item in the near future with proceeds dedicated to a charity. As such, the winning bidder can choose to have the item signed by the star nor not. When collecting a piece of film memorabilia (in this case, set decoration), will the piece have more value if it is signed by one of the film's stars or is it better for the purposes of future increase in value to leave the item unsigned?

Looking for advice from people who are avid collectors and who have experience in this area. Thanks!

Answer:

signature is good not on the face of the piece, not personalized and proof that it was actually used in a scene with the actor/actress.
